Biography

Research Summary

An Illinois native pursuing a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences and a minor in Chemistry, I have found a home in the laboratory of Dr. Shujie Yang. Our lab primarily studies signaling and epigenetics in endometrial cancer, while focusing on strategies that can effectively sensitize tumors to progesterone therapy. My current independent project investigates a dual PI3K/HDAC inhibitor, CUDC-907, and its ability to restore functional progesterone receptor expression. My other roles in lab include training other undergraduate students, training international scholars, managing purchasing, and compiling safety records. In addition to my goal of attending medical school, I hope to continue to gain experience in the world of clinical medicine and contribute to better outcomes for patients with endometrial cancer.
